Brazil address format notes

Brazilian addresses commonly place the street type and name before the number, then city, two-letter state code, and CEP.

Postal code

CEP samples use the official eight-digit display structure but are not live delivery lookups.

Brazilian CEP values contain eight digits and are normally displayed as five digits, a hyphen, and three digits.

Structural pattern
^\d{5}-\d{3}$
Format example
01311-000

Phone format

Phone values are formatting examples only.

Common mistakes

  • Dropping the hyphen from a displayed CEP.
  • Including the letters CEP inside the field value.
  • Omitting the two-letter state abbreviation.
